𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
Terramique is a collection created from waste eggshells, giving a second life to this biological waste using a casting technique. The primary component of Terramique is calcium carbonate, which constitutes 5% of the Earth's crust and is commonly found in eggshells, as well as naturally UV-resistant.
Manufacturing Process:
Waste eggshells are sourced from local bakeries and farms in the Philippines, where the transformation process begins. The eggshells are cleaned, crushed into irregular fragments with size ranging from sand to 3mm, then roasted to develop a range of natural tones, from light to dark. As well as, eggshell absorbed very well natural dyes such as indigo, madder, and chlorophyll. These are added to the mixture before firing to create rich blue, green, and rose hues with each fragment reacting differently, creating a unique result. Once the fragments are ready, they combined with a binding agent, and cured at room temperature.
Interior Applications:
Terramique is primarily used in residential and hospitality spaces and can be used for a variety of purposes. They are easy to clean and can be used in wet spaces, making them ideal but not limited to indoor wall panels, bathroom, and other areas.
